Friends & Volunteers

Volunteers are an important part of the operations of the Sapphire Coast Marine Discovery Centre, both in the public and non-public areas. The contributions of volunteers enable the Centre to provide services that add value to its core services. Front-of-house volunteers meet and greet visitors, help visitors feel welcome and oriented to the centre, take guided tours, and interpret the centres content.

The laboratory will be used by individual researchers, school groups, community groups and tertiary students and will be situated adjacent to the Marine Discovery Centre. It is anticipated that the laboratory will be completed by early 2010 and ready for use immediately afterwards.
